How you can help?

Smestow Valley Local Nature Reserve is a treasured resource. Please help to keep the nature reserve safe and pleasant for everyone to enjoy.

Share the space and slow down

Consider other users when using Smestow. Walking, jogging and cycling are all welcome but please give people space, slow down and let people know you are coming past.

Pedestrians first!

Make everyone welcome but please give walkers priority. Vehicles including motorbikes, however, are not allowed on the nature reserve and will be reported to the police. If you see Motorbikes or other antisocial behaviour please report via this link.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome: Dogs under close control are welcome on Smestow Valley Local Nature Reserve. Please keep your furry friends within eyesight and ensure that they do not harass other users of the nature reserve, other dogs or wildlife.

Clean up: Please make sure you always clean up after your dog. Pick up your dog poo and place in the bins situated around the nature reserve.

Dogs and water: Please keep dogs out of the water as flea and tick treatments are bad for the environment and bad for wildlife.
