Smestow Valley Local Nature Reserve stretches from Aldersley in the North to Wightwick in the South. There are numerous points where you can get on to the nature reserve and lots of places to park.

When to visit
Come and enjoy the great outdoors in the heart of the city! Our visitors enjoy this calm oasis, taking in the landscape with its’ distinctive heritage features being reclaimed by nature. Smestow Valley Local Nature Reserve has something to offer everyone throughout the whole of the year. Some paths are muddy in the winter months so please wear appropriate footwear.

Open 365 days a year. There is pedestrian access 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Parking:
There is free car parking available at several points around Smestow Valley including:
- Car park by cupcake lane: Meadow View open daily from 7.30am and between 5pm and 11pm - depending on the time of the year.
- Car park off Hordern Road
There is also plenty of parking on nearby roads, these are residential areas so please park considerately and do not block pavements.
Bicycle parking:
No formal bike parking
Walking trails:
Plenty of good, mostly flat, footpaths and trails throughout making it easy for walkers and cyclists.
Access:
Partial disabled access, parts of the site are wheelchair friendly. Please see which paths are wheelchair-friendly on the map.
Dogs:
Dogs under close control are welcome on Smestow Valley Local Nature Reserve.
